Snowdrops

You know winter is almost behind us when we you see the beautiful white buds and brilliant green of Snowdrops poking their heads above the ground and maybe even through the snow. The Snowdrop is a welcome addition to any garden. Their bulbs are easy to plant, take little maintenance and divide easily. They will naturally spread out, if you have moles or other ground burrowing critters who can carry bits of bulbs to other areas of your yard and garden. The bulbs are generally planted in the fall. They work well in shaded gardens and can also be put into planters and pots. They do not like being in wet conditions, so be sure to keep them in an area that has good drainage.
